Inksie is a brand, online community and shop based on well-designed products and the culture that embodies them. The hub of our organization consists of fledging designers and veterans alike, excited to create, distribute and vote on works of art around the world.
Stefan Strumbel (1979) uses traditional motives that are associated with his origin, the Black Forest. On an abstract level, Strumbel deals with the paradigms of “home“ and simultaneously questions its concept. The exhibition encompasses objects from folk art that refer to the clichéd notions of home, folklore and popular piety: the traditional cuckoo clock, wooden masks of the Alemannic Carnival or typical crucifixes mainly used in catholic households.
I was using the Aston Martin (don’t ask me which model…) from Goldfinger (Ian Fleming’s James Bond) and a quote from Kanye West’s song “Power” (2010) stating: “I was drinking earlier, now I’m driving / Where the bad Bitches at, where you hiding…”
